Here is our 3rd weekly update from the official Eurovision Song Contest odds grouped by Bestbetting.com.

Positions indicate the results of the odds according to the leading Betting Agencies: BET365, Betdirect, Blue Square, Coral, Landbrokers, Paddy Power, Skybet, VCbet, William Hill and Bet Fair.

In this week's chart, Greece, Romania and Sweden keep a firm hold to the top-3 positions.  Bosnia, UK and Germany gain a better placing in the top-6, to the loss of Belgium which is the entry which suffered the biggest loss this week (4 places down from last week, now at the 8th position).

On the other hand, Latvia is the entry which gained a better placing over last week (4 places up, now at the 17th position).
Malta suffers a loss of 3 more placings and is now at 19th position.

However, these placings will most definately change once the artists arrive in Athens and start their rehearsals on stage complete with their polished acts and dance routines.

Taking into consideration the new rule of the TOP-6, to be used from this Eurovision Song Contest onwards, the countries which, so far, seem most likely to directly qualify to the finals of next year are: Greece, Romania, Sweden, Bosnia, Norway and Belgium. Although Norway and Belgium are at 7th and 8th position respectively, they gain access to the top-6  due to Germany and UK's direct qualification anyway, being in the BIG 4 Club together with Spain and France.

According to this week's chart, the countries which so far, seem most likely to qualify from the semi-finals round are: Sweden, Bosnia, Belgium, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Macedonia, Iceland, Turkey and Ireland.

Awaiting Kate Ryan - in Malta this Weekend!

(Malta welcomes Kate Ryan...picture © lacoccinelle.net, design poster © Jes Darmanin ogae malta)

This weekend, Malta welcomes one of the hottest favourites to grab this year's Eurovision Song Contest!  Popstar Kate Ryan will represent Belgium in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

After long weeks to select the Belgian enty, however, the song that everyone had predicted would win right from the start did just that - 'Je t'adore', performed by the established Belgian singer Kate Ryan.

With over a million European record sales under her belt, singer/songwriter Kate Ryan is a hot young singer-songwriter with a passion and ability to match her success. Kate is recognized all the time in Belgium but seems unfazed by the attention. Kate and her team are amongst Belgium's most respected dance singer- songwriters.

Belgian superstar Kate Ryan will visit Malta as part of her promotour on 15th and 16th April.  Thanks to the collaboration with Maltasong, local Eurovision fans and club members of Malta's official Eurovision fan club, Ogae Malta, will have the opportunity to meet the Belgian superstar, personally.

Kate Ryan will be interviewed on Ogae Malta's Eurovision Radio and Eurovision Fever.  The tv-interview will be broadcast on Wednesday 19th at 22:00CET and Sunday 23rd at 17:35CET on the first edition of the revamped Eurovision Fever - an Ogae Malta production in collaboration with What's On Media?, Storm-design and One Productions.

Soult.com describes 'Je t'adore' as a very catchy and upbeat song with a really strong ending, benefiting from a surprisingly strong live vocal performance by Kate, and a fairly effective onstage show. In many ways, one feels it has much in common with last year's Greek winner - a well-presented modern pop-dance track of the kind that might well make an immediate impact on European televoters, and that can easily be imagined blasting out of radios across the continent. Broadcaster VRT is reportedly aiming for the best ever Flemish result in 2006 - something that certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Due to a disappointing result obtained by Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, Kate Ryan has to start her Eurovision adventure facing the semi-finals hurdle!  Bon chance a Je t'adore!

EXCLUSIVE: Fabrizio Faniello: I hope this will be our lucky year!

(Fabrizio Faniello in Romania)

Exclusive: Ogae Malta, the oficial Maltese Eurovision Fan Club, has learnt directly from TVR that Fabrizio Faniello's promotour in Romania has ended with flying colours!

"Eurovision Song Contest is the best launching platform for an artist on the international market", declared Fabrizio Faniello, Malta's representative for Eurovision, in a press conference that took place at TVR (Romanian Television) on Wednesday. He claimed that he was speaking from his own experience, because, after he represented Malta in 2001 ESC, he was remarked and promoted in Europe. Thus, he has become the first successful Maltese artist on the international market.

Mihai Trăistariu is a "cool" guy, an artist with a remarkable voice and he has a very good song, considers Malta's representative. "More than that, the chorus is in Italian, and I am half Italian, so I like the song even more", he added. Fabrizio Faniello and Mihai Trăistariu have known each other since 2002, they met in festivals and concerts in Bulgaria and Germany. They have also seen each other in Greece, when they were invited to sing in the national selection. "When we met, in Greece, Mihai sang my song, I Do, and I sang Tornero”, says Fabrizio. He also thinks that Mihai's song and "I Do" belong to the same category: "pop, catchy". "I hope this will be our lucky year", continued Fabrizio.

I Do is a very special song to me”, affirmed the Maltese artist. “I wrote it with my friend, Aldo Spiteri, after I broke up with my girlfriend". The song was not especially conceived for Eurovision. Fabrizio's manager decided afterwards that it should participate in the Maltese selection. As a result, the song was "drastically modified and adapted for Eurovision", he says. Fabrizio has announced that I Do will be also released in Romania in the next period.

Fabrizio Faniello declares he feel very comfortable in Romania, as he is already familiar with the country and the people. He took part in the Romanian "Golden Stag" and in “Mamaia” Festival and he made a duet with a Romanian artist for the song "When We Danced".

Fabrizio was invited in Romania by TVR (Romanian Television), in order to promote his song for Eurovision.

Ogae Malta thanks TVR's Ms. Anghel for the exclusive news.  Keep visiting Ogae Malta's website for more exclusive news...directly from the sources!  Ogae Malta, the official Maltese Eurovision Fan Club is affiliated to Ogae International.
